She emphasizes the importance of evaluating our diet based on the season and Ayurvedic principles. JoAnne explains how seasonal eating can improve digestion, sleep, well-being, energy levels, metabolism, immunity, mood, creativity, focus, and productivity. She discusses how our bodies mirror nature's elements and how we can balance them through food choices. JoAnne also highlights the qualities of different foods and their effects on our health.
JoAnne discusses the benefits of following a cleanse program, such as better sleep, improved mood, increased energy, weight loss, and improved skin. She provides an example of a daily routine for a prep week at home, including exercise in the morning, light meals throughout the day, and incorporating broths and soups into meals. JoAnne emphasizes giving the digestion system a rest to improve efficiency by incorporating Kitchari, a traditional Indian “chicken soup for the soul” minus the chicken. It is gentle on the system, nourishing and can be used during the cleanse week.
JoAnne discusses all phases of the gentle cleanse and invites participants to join her upcoming cleanse class where she will cover topics like dosha types and provide seasonal recipes and spices that will kickstart the metabolism and rejuvenate the digestive system.
